MA Trainee

General Summary

Sysco Central California, a division of Sysco Corporation, is currently seeking qualified outside sales associates, also known as a Marketing Associate - Trainee to grow our business in the Central Valley. Sysco is the global leader in selling, marketing and distributing food products to restaurants, healthcare and educational facilities, lodging establishments and other customers who prepare meals away from home. Its family of products also includes equipment and supplies for the foodservice and hospitality industries. Responsibilities

Outside sales position with defined territory responsibility. Marketing Associates are expected to perform as a relationship manager and take a consultative approach to selling by proposing new ideas and exceeding customer expectations. Marketing Associates develop and penetrate each of their accounts by selling the full mix of Sysco product categories through presentation of new products, ideas, sales tools, and services. The position requires varied work hours such as some evening and weekend work for customer calls

Qualifications

  • Self-Motivator with excellent Time Management skills
  • Previous sales experience in food service preferred
  • PC proficiency
  • Valid California Driver’s License and reliable transportation; Clean DMV
  • Minimum H.S diploma or equivalent

Merchandising Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises and directs the activities of assigned Merchandisers to ensure daily responsibilities and job priorities are accomplished.
  • Maintains sound relationships with manufacturers and brokers.
  • Responsible for reviewing negotiating deals and promotions with assigned vendors.
  • Directs and coordinates purchases from assigned vendors.
  • Assures proper inventory and service levels are maintained.
  • Interacts daily with department heads, vendors and suppliers, sales personnel, accounting, warehouse, and other office personnel.
  • Supports and assists all efforts of the Marketing and Sales Department.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum of four years food service experience, with two of those years in Sales or Merchandising.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft software and Sysco programs
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in Sysco Categories.
  • High School Graduate, Some College preferred.
